"No" to illegal migration, "no" to the euro – Karol Nawrocki declared in his address. The new president added that he would also oppose raising the retirement age, which will likely appeal to all workers. Nawrocki also took a stance on the issues facing people with disabilities.
- Karol Nawrocki took the presidential oath before the National Assembly
- The new head of state then delivered his address in the Sejm chamber.
- President Nawrocki spoke about, among other things, the retirement age and the issues of people with disabilities
- On both issues there can be no doubt about the president's opinion
"The program I will be implementing will be a program for the sustainable development of the Polish state. Yes, we are all from Polish cities and villages, and there is no Poland A or Poland B, " the president said.
He indicated that his platform calls for saying "no" to illegal migration and the euro, and "yes" to the Polish złoty. He also declared that he would not allow the retirement age to be raised for both women and men .
Karol Nawrocki ready to reach an agreement across divisions regarding people with disabilities"I stand before you, aware of the great task and the enormous responsibility that lies before me. But I stand here, in the Polish Sejm, also aware of the divisions in Polish political life, in Polish social life. I want to clearly declare that I will not make my decisions in accordance with these divisions, but rather against them, always making decisions that reflect the voice of the Polish nation, not political or partisan emotions," said Nawrocki.
Nawrocki expressed hope that "in matters of housing, development investments, Polish public finances, we are able to reach an agreement that goes beyond politics."
"This is a matter of providing people with the housing they need, including municipal housing. This is a matter of the future of our children, of future generations of Poles, and I truly hope for cooperation from all political circles around these issues, which we should not be pursuing politically," said Nawrocki. He declared that he would devote special attention to these issues in the Chancellery of the President.
The President emphasized that the strength and potential of the state are also measured by how it responds to the needs of those most in need.
- That's why I also believe in a supra-political understanding around people with disabilities and the laws that are being prepared for them - he said.
He added that special presidential councils will operate in the Presidential Palace and will seek solutions for seniors and young people.
